Manufacturers constantly monitor the quality of their detergents, and they utilize the same testing methods to assess the effectiveness of new products. In one method, light is shined onto a piece of fabric that has been soiled and then washed in the test detergent.
The company faced the environmental pressure and legislation, and it led then to develop effective builders that did not contain phosphates. Today, the company sold detergents in many states. Although this adjustment did not entail a change in the manufacturing process, it did require a research effort that took several months to devise a satisfactory alternative.
Technology upgrades led to a 60 per cent reduction in waste emissions, a 40 per cent increase in the plant’s production. The plant has also achieved zero water discharge from its operations.
